How to Write Product Descriptions That Sell (With AI Help)
By the Creio team · Updated 14 October 2026 · 4 min read
A good product description answers the questions a customer would ask in a DM, before they ask. Here is a structure you can reuse for every product.
A simple structure
- Open with a line about how the product looks or feels and why someone would want it.
- Add a short paragraph about when and how it is used.
- List the facts: size, colour options, material, what is included.
- Say how long delivery takes and how to contact you.
What to include, and what to leave out
- Include real details you know to be true: sizes, colours, materials, care.
- Leave out claims you cannot back up, such as "100% original" if it is not.
- Do not copy another store's description. Customers notice.
Using AI in Creio
On each product, the Write with AI button drafts a description from the product name and any facts you type in. It is built to describe the look and feel but not to invent materials, sizes or prices, so add your real facts first. Always read the draft and correct it before saving. You remain responsible for what is published.
Quick checklist
- Is the first line interesting?
- Are the size and colour options clear?
- Would a customer still need to ask you anything before buying?
